BACKGROUND:
The Internation Submarine Races are a biennial engineering design competition designed to encourage students to pursue educations in marine engineering and ocean technology in a premiere STEM (science, technology, engineering, match) event. The human-powered races are held every other June in the test tank at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Carderock, MD, in the national capital area.
Students from high schools and colleges from the United States and thoughout the world are invited to participate. Teams have competed from the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Oman and the Netherlands. The event began in 1989 and has involved over 2,500 students and hundreds of volunteers.

*Due to the large number of teams and attendees, we recommend you register as soon as possible as ALL team ALL attendee registration must be proceesed thru base security
*Please register with your legal name for Security purposes; In the questions section you will be able to give the preferred name you would like on your ISR 13 Badge

US Citizens = A government issued picture ID (Driver's License) is required for entry at NSWC, Carderock
Non-US Citizens = A government issued picture ID (Driver's License) is required AND a copy of your Resident Alien Form is required for entry at NSWC, Carderock if you are a Resident Alien
ISR 13 BADGE = You are required to wear your ISR 13 Badge the entire time you are on base
