AHST Mentor Registration 2024-2025

Academy of Health Sciences and Technology (AHST) Mentor Registration


AHST is offering a wonderful volunteer opportunity to mentor 10th, 11th or 12th grade students of the Grand Rapids Public Schools, Academy of Health Sciences & Technology.  Corewell Health partnered with GRPS to develop the AHST program. This academy has been designed to connect students with leading health care employers. The goal is to educate students who are interested in the fields of health, science and technology, to prepare them for successful healthcare careers. Mentoring students at AHST is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the lives of young individuals in our community.

 

There are 2 steps to becoming an AHST volunteer mentor: 

  1. All mentors (previous and new) must complete and submit the GRPS Volunteer Application form at https://www.grps.org/volunteer Under Volunteering at enter Innovation Central High School/AHST
  2. Register and submit the online registration form before September 18, 2024: https://www.onlineregistrationcenter.com/AHST
Mentoring Sessions:
 
Mentor sessions will be conducted Monthly on the 4th Wednesday (October 30, 2024 - April 30, 2025) 
Mentor session can be conducted Virtual or In-person
*Some dates subject to change due to school calendar and Holidays.
  • Mentor sessions will take place during Academy-specific classes. Dates and times to be determined. Once determined your mentor day and time will stay consistent each month  
  • The sessions will be approximately 50 minutes
  • Mentor modules will be provided for guidance 
 

Mentor Orientation - September 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Virtual - Online
